Rob Garland

As your President and the main representative of the Union, it is my place to represent you, the students, to the college. I will always have the students in mind while doing this. I will ensure that your time at the college is as fulfilling as possible, including a variety of events to keep you entertained. My role within the Union incorporates overseeing everything the Union is involved with from organizing events and overseeing publications to promoting welfare issues and representing your views in board meetings.

My office is on the bottom floor of the REC, please come and see me at any point if you have any questions or even if you just fancy saying hello and having a chat. I look forward to being your president and can’t wait to meet you all!

Musical Taste – Very eclectic anything from Video Killed the Radio Star to Elgar’s Violin Concerto

Favourite Film – ‘The International’

Interests – Living beyond my means and watching a whole series of tv shows in an evening

Favourite Drink – Red wine or cider… nothing to do with the cheap price in college bar of course!!

Embarrassing Fact – I once ate shower gel to get a day off school!

What would be your audition song on X Factor? – For those of you who were there, I think I would have to reprise Barbie Girl from the Red Nose night in college bar.
